  • Upon arriving at the Lamma Fisherfolk’s Village, our professional guide will introduce the structure of fish farming rafts, daily operations, and the farming environment.
  • Learn about the current state of Hong Kong's fishing industry and the challenges it faces, as well as the marine ecology of the surrounding waters.

1️⃣Visual Experience - Real Fisherman Experience: "Fish Wrapping" 

  • Participants can enjoy feeding fish on a traditional fishing raft.
  •  "Fish Wrapping" Experience: Participants will join fishermen in setting nets on the fish raft and then pull up the nets to see if there are any catches!

 

2️⃣ Auditory Experience - Fisherman Terminology and Ocean Wisdom 

  • Engaging learning of fisherman terminology: Learn "waterman language" through simple games, such as "fish wrapping," which describes a fishing method.
  • Human Library: Listen to real fishermen share the cultural lifestyle and fishing wisdom of water communities, understanding the hardships of fishing life and the challenges of the marine environment.

 

3️⃣ Tactile Experience - Traditional Fisherman Skills Workshop

  • Hookless Fishing Game: Experience fisherman wisdom and feel the thrill of catching big fish!
    Learn traditional fisherman knot tying and net making skills.
  • Touch various marine creatures under safe guidance to experience ocean vitality: barnacles, sea bass, dragon fish, sponges, fish friends, abalones, and pearl oysters.
